After signing up months ago and ignoring it until now, I began to use Facebook today – you know, adding friends, writing on their walls, looking at photos, … oh, and throwing virtual chickens at them.

I never “got” MySpace – to me it seemed inhabited only by 10 year olds, with tiled background images in colors that make it impossible to read anything on the page (although one could argue that it’s still better that way, than to actually read whats posted there…). I will see if Facebook is any different, and provides something meaningful to the more “serious” LinkedIn or Xing business platforms.

Note – after “finding” Derren Brown’s shows on Channel 4, that’s the 2nd time that I stumble across this channel.

Update: Apparently, Dawkins is more mainstream than I thought, after reading about his works in a book more than half a year ago.

Only recently I started using iGoogle (and pretty much at the same time Google Reader). I always wanted to like and use portal sites since pre-Google Yahoo-times back in the late 90s, but again – somehow, it never became a habbit to check them and configure everything to my liking.

We’ll see how it goes, but having all relevant mini-info available on one place and even access it from my mobile phone is becoming daily routine now.

I’ve been playing “Phoenix Wright – Ace Attorney” on my DS throughout my 3 week vacation – and to my surprise, I finished it. It’s been ages that I had the time and will to finish a game.

It’s funny because this game in particular is so untypical for this platform. Basically, it’s an interactive novel about a defense attorney learning the ropes through 5 different cases (stories). You have to interview people, collect evidence, find contradictions, and then cross examine witnesses statements, present the right evidence to reveal contradictions…

All in all pretty linear, but very well written (and funny) – although it’s more or less ignoring the DS’ technical capabilities, mainly because the first 4 of the 5 episodes are ports from the GBA version; only the 5th case introduces some pretty nice touchscreen-features.

I don’t know whether I want to play through the next game in the series (also because it seems to be a 100% GBA port, and people were complaining that the features that were introduced in the 5th DS-only case of the first game are completely missing again) – but there’s a third one already in the making and should be released later this year.
